Bitcoin Breaks $24k As Exchange Whale Ratio Declines

On-chain data shows the Bitcoin exchange whale ratio has declined recently as the crypto surges above the $24k mark. Bitcoin Exchange Whale Ratio (EMA 7) Is Currently Below 0.50 As per a post from CryptoQuant, the BTC exchange whale ratio has gone down recently while the price has surged up. The “exchange whale ratio” is an indicator that measures the ratio between the sum of the top 10 Bitcoin transactions to exchanges and the total exchange inflows. exchange whale ratio = sum of top 10 inflow txs (in BTC) ÷ total exchange inflows (in BTC) Here, the ten largest transfers are considered as they generally belong to the whales. Thus, when the value of the ratio is high, it means whales are making up for a large part of the total inflows right now. Since investors usually send their BTC to exchanges for selling purposes, this trend can be a sign that whales are dumping at the moment. and hence can be bearish for the crypto’s price. On the other hand, low values of the metric can sug...

Elevated Bitcoin Open Interest Levels Puts Market In Vulnerable Position

Bitcoin has recovered above $23,000 multiple times now, but the digital asset remains in a perilous position. This is because the recovery alone has not been able to assure that the bull trend would endure. Rather, it has been falling the brief buying and selling pressures that have been plaguing investors in recent times. The bitcoin open interest also mirrors this fact and shows just how easy it would be for bitcoin to lose its position. Bitcoin Open Interest Stays Elevated For the past week, the bitcoin open interest has been on the rise. After hitting above 300k the previous week, there was no stopping this part of the market. However, it also pointed to more peculiarities about the current bitcoin uptrend. 3 Bitcoin trading behaviors hint that BTC’s rebound to $24K is a ‘fakeout’

BTC price surged above a key resistance cluster, but its market structure and technical analysis suggest the move is just another trap. Bitcoin (BTC) price rallied toward $24,200 on July 28 after a near 10.5% surge that began a day earlier. The gains appeared after Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell signaled intentions to slow down their prevailing tightening spree. They prompted some Bitcoin analysts to predict short-term upside continuation, with CryptoHamster seeing BTC at $26,000 next. It seems that the downside breakout was a false one, and the bullish flag has been validated. Let's see how fast $BTC can reach those targets. #bitcoin $BTCUSD $ETH $ETHUSD #ビットコイン #биткойн #比特币 https://t.co/v6x4Ka23L7 pic.twitter.com/nKoEV8440X — CryptoHamster (@CryptoHamsterIO) July 28, 2022 But BTC's potential to recover entirely from its ongoing bearish slumber appears low for at least three key reasons. Bitcoin bulls have been duped before Bitcoin established its r...

Democratic senators chide Fidelity Investments for BTC-exposed retirement funds

Crypto critic Elizabeth Warren and two colleagues write to the Fidelity CEO again to express their displeasure with crypto-exposed 401(k) offerings. Three United States senators have written to Fidelity Investments CEO Abigail Johnson demanding an explanation for the financial services company’s decision to include Bitcoin-exposed funds in its 401(k) retirement plans. “This decision is immensely troubling,” they wrote. Democrats Dick Durbin, Elizabeth Warren and Tina Smith sent their letter Tuesday. The letter, which is around a page and a half long, discussed Americans’ retirement savings habits in general terms with minimal statistics but numerous rhetorical flourishes and strings of adjectives. The money American consumers may invest in retirement funds is “hard earned,” for example, and their exposure to the “cryptocurrency casino” is “a bridge too far.” The authors of the letter asked: “When saving for retirement is already a challenge for so many Americans, why would Fid...
