Do Kwon denies forging passport blames Chinese' agency: Report

Do Kwon has denied forging travel documentation and refuted having any financial ties to Europe Now party leader Milojko Spajić. Terraform Labs founder Do Kwon told a Montenegro court that he wasn’t aware the passport he was traveling with was allegedly forged and instead pinned the blame on a Chinese-named agency. In a June 17 report from South Korean news outlet Segye Ilbo, Kwon told the Montenegrin Basic Court he received his allegedly forged passports and travel documentation, including a Costa Rican passport, through third-party “agencies.” “I received my Costa Rica passport after filling in the documents required by a Singaporean agency that was recommended to me by a friend. I received my Belgian passport through another agency.” According to Kwon, because he'd been traveling with his Costa Rican passport “for years” he had no reason to doubt its authenticity. The prosecution pressed Kwon for further details on the agency he used for his passports, but Kwon said he co

Britcoin launch inches closer after Project Rosalind CBDC tests

A major study between the BIS and the U.K. central bank found a retail CBDC could make peer-to-peer payments cheaper and easier. The Bank of England (BoE) is a step closer to launching its central bank digital currency (CBDC) dubbed “Britcoin” following the conclusion of a trial study called Project Rosalind. The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) along with the BoE launched the joint experiment in July 2022 to explore how prototypes of an application programming interface (API) could be implemented in retail CBDC transactions. A June 16 report which summed up phase two of Project Rosalind found a CBDC could make payments between individuals cheaper and more efficient while allowing firms to create new financial products that work to reduce fraudulent financial activity. Overall, the study developed 33 API functionalities and explored “more than 30 retail CBDC use cases.” Project Rosalind CBDC API summary. Source: BIS. Coinbase blasts SEC for no straight answers following court order

The comment from the crypto exchange came after the SEC asked for more time to respond to Coinbase's rulemaking petition. Coinbase has slammed the United States securities regulator for failing to answer questions asked in the U.S. Court of Appeals as part of its ongoing legal battle with the regulator. In a June 17 letter filed in the Court, lawyers for the crypto exchange accosted the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) for continuing to offer “no straight answers” to the Court in relation to Coinbase’s rulemaking petition , which calls on the SEC to establish a regulatory framework for digital assets. “When ordered by this Court to address the stark inconsistency between its litigating position and its actions and statements elsewhere, the SEC still offers no straight answers and instead repeats its talking points,” Coinbase’s letter said. The letter was in response to the SEC’s June 13 submission requesting an additional 120 days to reply to Coinbase’s rulemaking petiti

Watch out Ordinals 30000 Ethscriptions land on Ethereum

Inspired by Bitcoin Ordinals inscriptions, Ethscriptions offer a new way to mint NFTs on Ethereum. Ethereum users have been given another way to create nonfungible tokens (NFTs) and other digital assets on the blockchain with the launch of a new protocol. Launched on June 17 the protocol, dubbed “Ethscriptions,” is a nod to the Bitcoin ( BTC ) Ordinals protocol — where assets are known as “inscriptions.” Ethscriptions was developed by music website Genius.com co-founder Tom Lehman, who uses the pseudonym Middlemarch on Twitter. Lehman declared the project a “huge success” in a series of tweets on June 17 and noted nearly 30,000 Ethscriptions had been created within the first 18 hours of the protocol going live. With almost 30k Ethscriptions in <18 hours, the launch was a huge success! Thank you for seeing the massive potential here! I am on Ethscriptions 24/7, but I need your help! Web3 Gamer: Apple to fix gaming? SEC hates Metaverse Logan Paul trolled on Steam

Apple finally makes a play for gamers, SEC takes aim at Metaverse tokens, CryptoZoo trolled on Steam, memestock lord is GameStop’s new CEO. Gaming on Macs to suck less Is Apples reign as the worst platform for gaming coming to an end? Amidst all the hype about their long-rumored VR/AR headset, slated for release in early 2024 (queueing outside the Apple Store starts in October), its not the only signal that Apple might finally be sorting out its subpar gaming offering. Its also releasing software that will make it easier to play Windows games on Mac. Gaming on a Mac really sucks. Lots of games particularly indie and early release ones are not compatible. Keyboard mapping can be funky. To this day I have been unable to attach special tackles to my fishing rod (no, that is not innuendo) on the Mac edition of Stardew Valley. With VR games, its even worse. If you want to spend hours watching YouTube videos, you can get most VR headsets to somewhat work with a Mac. But right now the o
